Most Louisville-area youth baseball tournaments run Saturday and Sunday with two pool-play games followed by single-elimination bracket play. Games at 7U–10U are usually time-limited to about 90 minutes or six innings. Expect to be at the complex four to six hours a day, plan for heat and rain delays, and know that a healthy 7U–10U season is roughly six to ten tournaments, not twenty.
The standard format is two pool-play games on Saturday that determine seeding, then bracket play Sunday. Some events flip it, and a few run a three-game guarantee with no bracket at the youngest ages. Your coach usually receives the final schedule 24 to 72 hours before first pitch, which is why plans shift late.
At 7U and 8U you will often see run-rule and time-limit rules that end games early. That is by design — the goal is more teams playing more games, not marathon contests for eight-year-olds.
Teams based in Mount Washington and Bullitt County typically play at complexes across the Louisville metro, in Bullitt and Spencer counties, in Elizabethtown, and across the river in southern Indiana. Most are inside an hour, which keeps 7U–10U weekends day-trip friendly.
Six to ten events across a spring and summer is plenty at 7U through 10U. Teams playing eighteen weekends tend to run into arm fatigue, burned-out families, and less practice time — and practice is where players at this age actually improve.
Ask a program how it balances tournaments with skill work before you commit. If the answer is only a tournament list, that is the answer.
Cheer for effort, let the coaches coach, and let the umpires umpire. Kids hear one voice clearly during a game, and it should not be conflicting instruction from behind the backstop. Our program's code of conduct puts this in writing for players, parents, and coaches alike.

Usually three to five — two pool-play games plus bracket games. Most events advertise a three-game guarantee.
Directors normally compress the schedule or move games to another field before canceling. Refund policies vary by event and are often partial once pool play begins.
Many Louisville-area complexes charge a per-adult gate fee, often per day. Bring cash — some smaller facilities still do not take cards.
Six to ten across the season is a healthy range, leaving room for practice, arm care, and family time.
