B3 Elite is a faith-based, nonprofit travel baseball program for Louisville-area families. The program is based in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, just outside Jefferson County, and draws players from Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Okolona, Highview, and Hikes Point. It fields 7U, 8U, 9U, and 10U teams and plays weekend tournaments across the Louisville metro and southern Indiana. Louisville has no shortage of travel baseball. Several organizations run three or four teams at a single age group, with paid instructors, indoor facilities, and tryout lists a hundred kids deep. That model works for some families. It also produces a lot of eight-year-olds who spend Saturday in right field wondering when they get an at-bat, and a lot of parents who paid a real amount of money for the privilege.
B3 Elite is built the other direction. One roster per age group, kept small on purpose. We do not add players in the middle of a season to shore up a weak spot before a big bracket, because the kid who loses those innings did nothing to deserve it. Our coaches are dads and volunteers who played the game, and they are the same faces in March and in July. That continuity matters more at 7U through 10U than any facility does.
Being a registered 501(c)(3) changes the math too. Sponsorship and donation dollars go into team expenses rather than a profit line, so what a family pays is lower and the number we quote you is the whole number. If you want to see who backs the program, the sponsors page lists them.
Most of our metro-side roster lives on the southeast edge of Louisville, close enough that the drive to Mt. Washington is shorter than crossing town during rush hour. Typical drive times to practice:
About 15 minutes down Bardstown Road and Highway 44.
Roughly 20 to 25 minutes by way of Gene Snyder and I-65 or Bardstown Road.
About 20 minutes straight down Preston Highway and Highway 44.
Around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on which side of Outer Loop you start from.
Usually 25 to 30 minutes outside of rush hour.

Coach pitch into machine pitch. First tournament weekends, with most of the work spent on throwing mechanics, base running, and reps at more than one position.
Machine pitch into kid pitch. Hitters start timing a live arm, infielders learn footwork and force plays, and every kid learns how to answer a bad inning.
Full kid pitch on the 46/65 diamond. Pitch counts matter, lead-offs and steals come into play, and defenses align by situation instead of by habit.
Competitive kid pitch. Deeper pitching staffs, two-strike approaches, and preparation for 11U and 12U travel ball and middle school tryouts.

Tryouts and evaluations run in late summer and early fall. Teams practice through the winter, indoors when the weather demands it, then move outside as fields dry out. Tournament weekends start in the spring and run into early summer, played across Jefferson, Bullitt, and Spencer counties with a few trips into southern Indiana. Most weekends are day trips. A normal week is two practices and one tournament.

Every practice week is tied to a verse, and every player, parent, and coach signs the same code of conduct. We are not trying to be a church, and faith is not a logo we print to look different from the program down the road. The goal is that a boy goes home in July a better teammate, a better son, and a better competitor than he was in March. Not exactly, and we would rather be straight about it. B3 Elite is based in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, just outside the Jefferson County line in Bullitt County. A large share of our roster comes from southeast Louisville, and all of our tournament play happens across the Louisville metro, but the program itself is not located inside the city.
Mostly the southeast side. Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Okolona, Highview, and Hikes Point send the most players, along with families from Mt. Washington, Shepherdsville, and the rest of Bullitt County.
It depends on your neighborhood. Fern Creek and Highview families are usually 15 to 20 minutes out. Okolona is about 20 minutes down Preston Highway. Jeffersontown runs 20 to 25 minutes, and Hikes Point is closer to 25 or 30. Practices are scheduled with those drive times in mind so weeknights do not run late.
B3 Elite fields 7U, 8U, 9U, and 10U travel teams. Players are generally six to eleven years old depending on their league age at the cutoff date.
Weekend tournaments are played across the Louisville metro, primarily in Jefferson, Bullitt, and Spencer counties, with some events across the river in southern Indiana. Most weekends are day trips rather than hotel stays, which keeps the season affordable.
Size, structure, and motive. The larger metro organizations run several teams per age group and carry deep rosters, which means real competition for innings and frequent roster churn. B3 Elite keeps one small roster per age group, does not add players mid-season to chase a bracket, and is run by dads instead of paid staff. It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and it is openly faith-based, with a code of conduct that applies to parents and coaches as much as it does to players.
